What to Bring while Kayaking Outer Banks

• Plenty of water and a snack if you’d like
• Sunscreen, sunglasses, and/or a hat
• A towel for after the tour (you’ll want to leave it in your car)
• Shoes and clothing you don’t mind getting wet
• You may also want to consider insect repellent, a rain jacket if it might rain, and a dry bag

What is the age limit for Kayak Tours?

The minimum age for kayak tours with Kitty Hawk Kites is 5 years old. Children ages 5–12 must paddle in a tandem kayak with an adult. 

Kayak Tour Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change, and we’ll do our best to accommodate. However, due to limited availability and scheduling logistics, the following cancellation policy applies:

• Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled tour start time to receive a full refund.

• We paddle rain or shine—including in wind and light rain. However, we do not operate during thunderstorms or dangerous weather.

• If inclement weather prevents us from safely running your tour, we will contact you to reschedule or issue a full refund.

• No-shows, late arrivals, or cancellations made within 48 hours of your tour will not be eligible for a refund.

• We cannot guarantee the ability to reschedule last-minute changes, though we will do our best to accommodate when possible.
